Alcohol effects on our body

Most of us must have drunk alcohol before throughout their lifetime – well except for those Muslims friends. We might not drink it daily or regularly but the fact that we did drink it once in a while in some occasion like wedding dinner, friends or relative get together, New Year celebration and etc. I agreed that if you consume it once in a while are somehow good for health – or I can say at least won’t affects your health. What about those regular drinkers? Will their health deteriorate due to regular drinking? Well it obviously does affects our body if drank too much. Refer to America National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), here’s how alcohol can affects our body if consume too much in a long run.

Brain

The affects on brain will be in short term and long term. Difficulty walking, blurred vision, slurred speech, slowed reaction times, impaired memory – these impairments are detectable after only few drinks and quickly resolved after drinking stops. Exactly how alcohol affects the brain and the likelihood of reversing the impact of heavy drinking on the brain remain hot topics in alcohol research today. A number of factors influence how and to what extent alcohol affects the brain;

Sitting position and types of chair that cause back pain

Recently few of my colleagues complain about having back pain. They said that the office chair is the cause of the problem. Actually I felt it too when I sit too long and my lower back started to give out and send me the aching signal. This had leads us to spend a bit of personal money to buy the back support to support our lower back.
We sit in a long period of time due to work purpose, where we need to work 12 hours a day. Improper posture and bad chairs will cause back pain, hand pain, shoulder and neck pain and will tire you excessively.

Recommended Proper Sitting Position

  • Hands, wrists, and forearms are straight, in-line and roughly parallel to the floor.
  • Head is level or bent slightly forward, forward facing, and balanced. Generally it is in-line with the torso.
  • Shoulders are relaxed and upper arms hang normally at the side of the body.
  • Elbows stay in close to the body and are bent between 90 and 120 degrees.
  • Feet are fully supported by the floor or a footrest may be used if the desk height is not adjustable.

Lung Recovery after Quit Smoking

The question of lung recovery always flashes my mind since before I quit smoking. It is always my doubt on whether my lung will recover to a normal healthy non-smoker’s state or not. This is my concern because if my lung will not recovers there is no purpose for me to quit smoking;/ As I google through, it shows that our lung density will recover to at least 80 percent of those non-smokers – it can’t be 100 percent because the damage already been made – better than nothing right?

When you quit smoking, the inflammation in the airways goes down. The little hair-like projections in the airways called cilia, which are paralyzed by smoke begin to work again. So the lungs will get better in weeks to months. Breathing will get better. Exercise capacity will get better. Paradoxically, people find that they cough a little more right after they stop smoking, but that's natural. That's the lungs cleaning themselves out.

Blood Ozone Therapy

Last article I write about my friend’s father admitted to hospital due to pulmonary edema (fluid filled lungs). A small fraction of the lung muscle being taken out by the doctor to perform biopsy and the result is quite upsetting. Result shows that there is a cancerous cell detected from the test. Refer to my friend, the doctor says that the biopsy test are quite accurate and convincing – can say the accuracy is 70-80 percent. However, further checkup would need to be conducted to know the stage of the cancer cell.

The news itself is enough to upset my friend and started to search about the possibilities and alternative to cure cancer. He knows that doing the modern way of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is very painful and he don’t wanted his father to suffer. He haven’t tell his father and mother yet about the results because both the parents did not understand English and doctors only explain the medical report to the siblings only. He really doesn’t know what to do but to find for possible cure as soon as possible.

Fluid Filled Lungs

I hope it’s not because of my bad karma that indirectly cause this to happen;( The reason being is because recently my friend’s father admitted to hospital because of pulmonary edema (fluid filled lungs). I’ll explain a bit about pulmonary edema.

Our lungs are one of the largest organs in the body, it is made up of air sacs known as alveoli which function is to taking in oxygen and giving out carbon dioxide. The oxygen inhaled is then pass down to the bloodstream. Proper breathing will continue as long as there is no interference in the normal functioning of the alveoli.

What disrupting the normal function of our lung and caused fluids to fill the lungs?
In general the cause of fluid filled lungs can be related to heart problems (cardiac), however we can’t denied the fact that it may be caused by some sort of lung infection and or other factor that not caused by heart problem or we call it noncardiac pulmonary edema. Below discuss on factors that may caused pulmonary edema.

Why We Have Static in Our Body?

This few months I always get static on whatever I touched. I just don’t know when and where I’ll get shocked. But I’ll get shocked mostly in the office where I touch metal, monitor, door, and the most annoying one was when I touch my colleague. This happen not just once, it happen mostly all the time I have contact with them – the contact I mean was when I tap their shoulder or arm and or sometimes we bumped with each other while walking. I always blame them for giving me the static, though I know that I am the one giving out the shock. This makes me to avoid any contact with them and when I really need to tap their shoulder I will make a touch & go first before really rest my hand on it (no negativity here, it is just the culture – I’m not gay or pervert).

Back Pain Relieve III

Chinese Traditional Herbs Patch
This would be the last article for back pain and I hope the next time if I did write about it, I would be writing about other people instead of myself;) (oh I’m so bad).  I still felt minor muscle pain around my right kidney area (I did do check-up and it is sure not my kidney problem) and minor pain on my spine around C4, C5 & also around T4 & T6. I told the therapist about it – he noted and started to diagnose it with both his hands. He presses my spine side muscle part by part from neck area till the lower back area. Along the way he will asked me whether is it hurt or fatigue when he press the area. I told him exactly where I felt it and after the full diagnosis he concentrates on the part where I said its pain. After around 20 minutes of muscle relieving, he performs the well known bone twisting again – what a great way to end it;). I’ve said it once previously and I don’t mind to repeat it again – the whole session really relaxes me to the max!!! The therapist then patched some Chinese medicine on my pain area and I can’t take my bath till the next day morning;( (this is the worst part though).

Back Pain Relieve II

I’m getting stressed up lately at my work. I don’t get to complete my compulsory errand, I don’t get to do what I plan to do, I don’t get enough exercise and rest to release my tension. All I get is work, work and more work without really having a proper rest physically and emotionally.

Recently I realize my attitude changed to become more fierce and bad tempered. I will have negative thoughts like he/she must be simply take leave and don’t want to work – it just get on my nerves and I don’t know why I acted like this. Because I always have the mindset of “if I help people, people will help me back”, I will try as much as I could to work for them. I think because of excessive work that stresses me out - tried to control myself but sometimes it just burst without control.
